Mrs. Kim’s The Cat in the Hat Project
The Cat in the Hat is an all time favorite and it’s all about rhyming. After you’ve finished the craft, play a fun game. Sit across from your son or daughter and roll a ball to each other. Start with the word “ball “ and then roll the ball to the other person where he /she might say “ tall” and then back to you where you might say “fall.” You can play with the whole family and the words don’t have to make sense! Have fun listening for the sounds.
What you’ll need:
A paper plate
Red construction paper
White construction paper
Black construction paper
Black crayon or marker
Tape or glue
What to do:
Cut out a long vertical hat shape with red paper
Cut strips of white paper to glue on the red hat
Attach the hat to the paper plate
Add triangle ears for the cat
Draw a cat face on the plate
Add a red bow tie to complete your project!
