Katy’s Expert Pot Painting Pointers

Happy Easter!

As we move through this day with less family and friends to hug and hold, we hoped to brighten your spirits just a bit with a fun and artistic craft. We hope you have fun painting and potting your seeds that will soon sprout into something wonderful. By the time your beautiful flowers bloom we hope to see you in person (fingers crossed that is soon)!

We also wanted to thank the wonderful businesses that helped us to put the Tig & Peach Easter Baskets together: Katy Garry Fine Art, Patty Pops, Cantina Lobos, and T&F Landscaping. Thank you all!

Now, go have some fun munching on your cake pops and painting your pots using some of Katy Garry’s expert pointers below! We are so thankful to have such a talented artist right in our neighborhood.

Katy’s Expert Pot Painting Pointers

Step One:

Find your Inspiration! Bunny books on your bookshelf, flowers in the garden, or eggs in the basket! Your inspiration can come from anywhere. Mine was Hunt Slonum.

Step Two:

Sketch your design onto the pot, or go straight to painting with your vision in mind. Use lots of layers. You can use crayons over the paint, and you can mix water with the paint to make it more like watercolor. Once your masterpiece is complete let all paint dry.

Step Three:

If you’d like to make your own flower while your seeds grow you can paint a popsicle stick green. Paint a flower on a thick piece of paper and cut out. Cut out your flower and glue to your green stick. Add the seeds to the pot and watch your flowers grow!

If you’re looking a special Easter book today you can check out “Too Many Carrots” by Katy Hudson. Click here to listen to Katy Hudson read it! It's my absolute favorite bunny book.
