Tig & Peach Make Your Own Frog Craft

Whether you’re preparing to celebrate the second night of Passover or just want a new craft to try on this rainy day, try creating your own frog (the second plague!) out of some simple household items.

What you’ll need:

  • Toilet paper or paper towel roll

  • Stock paper (like index card material)

  • Green and red paint (or whatever colors you choose!)

  • Scissors

  • Glue

What to do:

  1. Using a towel paper roll (or a paper towel roll cut to approximately the same size), close one end of the roll with tape or a stapler. This will be the frogs body.

  2. Trace and cut two legs and two arms out of thick stock paper (regular paper will become too wet with paint so the thicker, the better!). Tip: You can even use a thank you card if you don’t have thick paper around the house.

  3. Cut two circles for eyes and two small black circles for the pupils. Glue the pupils onto the eyes. You could also use googly eyes if you have them handy! These will be used later.

  4. Securely tape the arms and legs to the underside of the frog’s body.

  5. Now for the real fun! Paint your frog! Of course we used green paint for demonstration, but show us your favorite color and have fun with it! Don’t forget to paint your frog’s tongue, too!

  6. Once the paint dries enough, glue on the frog’s eyes.

  7. Do another one so your frog has a friend! (Plus, we have nothing but time!)

You can also add a string and tape it to your frog’s mouth, then draw and cut out a fly to attach to the string for some extra fun!
